A career at uncommon intersections
Jon Gosier is an investor, entrepreneur, author and patron whose work connects capital, culture, technology and media.
Gosier has built his career by seeing value before it is obvious—and then building the infrastructure that helps it endure.
As founder and patron of Gosier Family Office, he oversees a portfolio spanning technology, real estate, venture capital, credit and entertainment. Its investment arm, Southbox Capital, has operated since 2017.
His companies include FilmHedge, a financial technology platform for film and television; MediaHedge, an intelligence and software company serving the media economy; and Audigent, the advertising technology company acquired by Experian in 2024 in a transaction valued at more than $300 million.
Earlier, while living and working in East Africa, he founded the data and technology firm Appfrica and co-founded AfriLabs, a network of innovation hubs across the continent. Those years shaped an enduring interest in how technology, policy and capital can expand access.
He has delivered two TED talks, addressed audiences around the world and authored Code Switch, a book about race, technology and the modern economy. His work has been recognized by TIME and other international publications.
Across each chapter, the through line is consistent: build what is missing, invest in people with conviction, and preserve the story so others can learn from it.
